On October 22, 2021 in Kyiv, the All-Ukrainian Public Organization Association of Judges of Ukraine together with the International Public Organization International League for Protection of Ukrainian Citizens’ Rights held a round table on the theme: «Judicial Reform and Joint Tasks of Judges, Prosecutors, Advocates».

Participants discussed topical issues and issues of judicial reform, the consequences of the reform of the prosecutor's office and the role of the advocacy in the justice system.

The round table was attended by the Vice-President of the Association of Judges of Ukraine Olena Yevtushenko, the Chairman of the International League for the Protection of Ukrainian Citizens’ Rights Eduard Bagirov, the Chairman of the Assembly of Nationalities of Ukraine Rovshan Tagiyev, judges of appellate and district courts, representatives of the National School of Judges of Ukraine, representatives of the Ukrainian National Bar Association and the All-Ukrainian Public Organization Ukrainian Association of Prosecutors.

Valeriia Melnyk, a Vice-President of the UAP, spoke about the stages of the reform of the prosecutor's office and its results, noting the importance of bringing to society the goals and objectives of reforming of any state body.

Oleksandr Pikul, another Vice-President of the UAP, shared his experience of participating in the personnel commission for the selection of candidates for positions in district prosecutor's offices.

The speakers also emphasized on the importance of holding such events and discussing controversial legal issues, as proper cooperation between judges, prosecutors and lawyers is the key to the effective implementation of justice and the protection of the legal interests of citizens and the state.

The event was held in compliance with all sanitary and quarantine regulations.
