On 8-12 September, in Moscow (Russian Federation) the 18th Annual Conference and General Meeting of International Association of Prosecutors had been held. In the Conference work approximately 700 members from 79 countries took part. During 5 days the prosecutors discussed the questions, which concern the main point of the Conference – “Prosecutor and the Rule of Law”.
Ukrainian Association of Prosecutors was represented on the Conference by the delegation led by Oleksandr Shynalskyi.
At the IAP General Meeting, which was held in September 11, 2013, it was decided to elect the President of Ukrainian Association of Prosecutors Oleksandr Shynalskyi as the Honorary Member of the International Association of Prosecutors.
Mentioned decision was taken on the proposal of the IAP Executive Committee for the outstanding contribution to the work of the Association.
On the Conference was held the meeting of the representatives of prosecutor’s associations from different countries.
On the meeting O.Shynalskyi proposed to hold a conference in which the participations would be the representatives of prosecutor’s associations. On O.Shynalskyi mind, the participants could share experience of creating and activity of associations of prosecutors, to identify the efficient ways of increasing an independent status of the prosecutor and so on. The participants of the meeting supported mentioned idea.
The next Annual Conference and General Meeting of the IAP will hold in November 2014, Dubai, UAE.
