On the 31^st of August, 2012, in Kiev, the President of the Ukrainian Association of Prosecutors Oleksandr Shynalskyi held a meeting with the Senator of the International Association of Prosecutors, the Honorary member of the Ukrainian Association of Prosecutors Mr. Henk Marquart Scholtz.

During the meeting they discussed questions about functioning of the prosecutor’s public organizations, their development and influence upon positive image of the public prosecution bodies. Mr. Scholtz mentioned an active participation of the Ukrainian Association of Prosecutors in the activities of the International Association of Prosecutors.

A special attention was paid to the discussion of the point h article 6 of the ‘Standards of Professional Responsibility and Statement of the Essential Duties and Rights of Prosecutors’  that were approved by the IAP on the 23^rd of April, 1999, notably to its part about the prosecutors’ right to form and join professional associations or other organizations. It was noted that public organizations of prosecutors that had been created and were functioning in most countries of the world, played a great role in development of the public prosecution bodies and in prosecutors’ independence support. Questions about further collaboration of the International Association of Prosecutors and of the Ukrainian Association of Prosecutors were discussed as well.
