On 31 May – 2 June 2016 the 2nd Global Forum for Associations of Prosecutors took place in Lisbon, Portugal

  During panel sessions the representatives of the associations of prosecutors discussed issues of financial autonomy, salary and pension provision, independence from influence of political powers and relations with the media.

  At the conference Oleksandr Shynalskyi, the President of the Ukrainian Association of Prosecutors, made a speech on the topic “International Cooperation of Associations of Prosecutors, possible ways and methods to support public organizations of prosecutors”. While speaking Oleksandr Shynalskyi drew the attention of his colleagues to the necessity of resolute and coordinated actions of the international community of prosecutors as for protection of the rights of prosecutors to discharge official duties in accordance with the law. The President of UAP suggested establishing a joint standing international center of support of associations of prosecutors. The participants of the Forum fell in with the proposal.

  In panel sessions and on the sidelines of the Forum the UAP members had a unique opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience with their colleagues from other countries.
